Development of Intelligent Network Communicator for the Mixed Signal Communications Using the System-On-A-Packaging (SOP) Technology

The intelligent network communicator (INC), the mixed signal communication testbed, is presented in this paper. The function of INC testbed is to transmit and receive the mixed signal, which is combination of the high-speed digital and the modulated RF signals, through the optical channel. The organic-material based multi-layer packaging technology, developed at Packaging Research Center in Georgia Institute of Technology, is used to build the system. Measurement performances of the components developed for the system are presented. As the link system test, 2.5Gbps PRBS and 5.8 GHz wireless LAN signals are transmitted through the INC system.
